It Is Finished
By David Wyper
In America, we have divisions and different schools of thought. The Left, the Right, Liberals and Conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, so-called Independents, then religious, secular, etc., etc., etc. and combinations of all of the above.
The Left lines up behind its leaders: congressmen, senators, reverends and talk show hosts. It's the same for the Right. Most talk of some god; and most haven't a clue of how to know or understand who this god is of which they speak.
There was a huge gathering on the Washington Mall to get back to God with Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck and others, all following or espousing the same war cries as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and so on.
However, as I listen and watch, I never hear anyone who truly understands what the real battle is all about on this planet. I think most Muslims do not know the fundamentals of the religion their leaders preach. I think most church-goers and religious people in this country are likewise clueless, following some denomination, author, preacher, entertainer, or the like.
Give to me, not the man who "has a dream", but the one who says God's Word, and knows and understands who He is and what He meant when on the Cross, He said, "It is Finished." And, yes, I meant God Himself on the Cross. These few words give us the totality of why we are here and what the battle is all about.
Glenn Beck as a Mormon is not any more informed, or less informed, than other people about the nature of the battle. The Mormons don't believe that Jesus - Himself - is God, come in fleshly form so human beings could look upon and fellowship with the Creator of all things, without disintegrating in His holy presence.
The Apostle John the Revelator wrote in his second letter (2 John 9): Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
The Doctrine of Christ is that He is God. John says that whosoever abideth (lives)in that has both the Father and the Son, in other words, has God.
Trust in God. Do not trust in man. Even with those who seem so right to us at times, it just ends up with the blind leading the blind. Jesus said when this happens, they both fall into a ditch. This ditch is so full and getting fuller by the day.
